Starting from this well-know Renaissance painter, Paula Soares asked various personalities from different professional areas - a priest, a judge, a writer, a prehistorian, an economist and an archaeologist - to be in Adam's or Eve's place when they are by the apple tree, and to imagine the dialogue between them, before the consummation of the forbidden act of eating the apple. ...In Eves - the title of this series - the artist transfers the primordial Catholic myth to contemporary discourse, creating a double dialogue between on the one hand the old painting and the text, and on the other hand the biblical view that nowadays men and women from different areas of knowledge have of the primordial founding myth of the western culture to which they belong.
